Open Exhibition Results Are In!

We are pleased to announce that Artworks Gallery has provided the list of curated images for PHOTOGraphie 2015!

Once the technical difficulties of submitting were ironed out, we had an amazing response with over 90 entries.  We are extremely excited to showcase the beautiful work that came in this year.

You can expect to see a display of talent from the local community as well as PPOC members, and keynote speaker Ken Sklute.  (We even had submissions from Ontario that will be on display!)

Thank you so much for your patience! You can expect your notification email to arrive today or tomorrow, providing information about your selected image(s) and what to do next.

It was brought to our attention that there was a glitch in the submission process and it was showing as already closed, as well as the website going down for several hours periodically.  We apologize for any confusion and have extended both the Open Exhibition and the Youth Contest deadline until August 22nd. 

We hope this allows those who had any difficulties time to resubmit!  We look forward to your entries.

This is an exciting opportunity for ALL photographers!  Although a PPOC sponsored event, we will be showcasing work from the community, photography club members, keynote speaker Ken Sklute, as well as PPOC members.

Calling ALL photographic artists!

Professional Photographers of Canada-BC Region welcomes ALL photographers (non-members and general public) to submit entries of your work for the curated gallery exhibition sponsored by SONY during the PHOTOGraphie festival, September 25-28, 2015.

The PHOTOGraphie 2014 gallery exhibit had a wide variety of artwork including Fine Art Nudes, Portraits, Animals and Architecture. So let your creativity soar, as this is an open themed exhibit! We encourage all photographic artists to take advantage of this opportunity to showcase their work. We handled several gallery sales last year for artists and many exhibitors made promising connections!

The gallery exhibition runs during the entire PHOTOGraphie festival, and exhibitors whose work is selected will receive four complimentary tickets  to network, meet potential buyers and socialize at the Galley Opening VIP Reception: September 25, 2015 at the Anvil Centre, New Westminster 6:30-9:30 pm. Here you’ll have a chance to mingle with other exhibitors and meet PHOTOGraphie keynote speaker Ken Sklute. Enjoy H’ors D’oevres and a cash bar while browsing the exhibition.

We are gearing up for this year’s exciting PHOTOGraphie Festival!  Our new venue, The Anvil Centre, is conveniently located in New Westminster near the skytrain, hotels, and the Westminster Quay!

If you are new to PHOTOGraphie Festival, we invite you to be inspired by diverse gallery exhibitions and learn from rich educational presentations at The The Anvil Centre in New Westminster. With something for everyone, this festival promises to inspire, entertain and educate about all things regarding professional photography. This community festival opens with a VIP private gallery reception and continues with free micro-talks for the public, hands on workshops for amateurs, pros and videographers and includes photos from our youth photography contest. Inaugural Launch of BC’s Only Professional Photography Festival

Presented by PPOCBC and Beau Photo, PHTOTGraphie Festival launches Sept. 26, 2014

 

Vancouver, BC…..The launch of PHOTOGraphie Festival is one week away at The Roundhouse in Yaletown! From September 26 to 29, 2014 this community event will have something for everyone and promises to inspire entertain and educate in the arena of Professional Photography. There will be plenty of free events for the public as well as tickets to purchase for Beau Photo’s Fusion Trade Show. Browse the gallery, watch an image competition judging, listen in on free micro-talks, sign up for hands on workshops geared towards amateurs, pros and videographers or peruse to hottest technology at the Fusion Trade Show.  Fine Artists Faye and Trevor Yerbury, this year’s keynote speakers, will be selling their work with partial proceeds to benefit SEVA. VIP Private Gallery Reception

Friday September 26 from 6:00 pm to 9:30 pm we will be celebrating the opening of PHOTOGraphie, BC’s only professional photography festival!

Join us for a glass of wine or sparkling water and some light nibblies for your palate. There will also be plenty of breathtaking photographic art to feast your eyes on and fabulous people to chat the evening away with. I bet you might even know one of the Photographers whose work is in the show!

Plus, you’ll have the opportunity to meet Faye and Trevor Yerbury, the Keynote speakers for Monday’s program! Hailing from Scotland, this is the Yerbury’s first visit to Canada and they are Masters of fine art nude and portrait photography.

Trevor and Faye are generously donating a portion of the sales of the work to Seva Canada. Seva does some great work around the globe preventing blindness and restoring sight!

Brought to you by Professional Photographers of Canada – BC Region, this private party has only a few tickets remaining and we want to make sure you and your guests can get in. If you are bringing a guest please reserve a ticket through Eventbrite for them and include their name on the order form.  Because our liquor license is for a private party, the only way we can allow people in is if they have a reservation.

Alternately, your schedule may have changed since you reserved your ticket and you may find that you are not able to attend.  We were really hoping to see you there, but if you are not coming would you kindly log back in to Eventbrite and cancel your ticket using the ‘refund’ button so others can attend in your place.
Here’s how to get to the Roundhouse: 

Walking: From Granville St, head east five blocks down Davie.

Skytrain: The Yaletown – Roundhouse Canada Line Station is 200 metres away,  just across the street.

Bus: Buses C21 & C23 stop within feet of the Roundhouse.

Driving: Underground pay parking is accessible off a little driveway beside the Roundhouse, off Drake (south of Pacific Blvd) and is only $3 from 6:00pm to 10:00pm.

Oh, and remember, please don’t drink and drive, arrange a designated driver or taxi or bus/skytrain. Hope to see you there!
