Inaugural Launch of BC’s Only Professional Photography Festival

Presented by PPOCBC and Beau Photo, PHTOTGraphie Festival launches Sept. 26, 2014

 

Vancouver, BC…..The launch of PHOTOGraphie Festival is one week away at The Roundhouse in Yaletown! From September 26 to 29, 2014 this community event will have something for everyone and promises to inspire entertain and educate in the arena of Professional Photography. There will be plenty of free events for the public as well as tickets to purchase for Beau Photo’s Fusion Trade Show. Browse the gallery, watch an image competition judging, listen in on free micro-talks, sign up for hands on workshops geared towards amateurs, pros and videographers or peruse to hottest technology at the Fusion Trade Show.  Fine Artists Faye and Trevor Yerbury, this year’s keynote speakers, will be selling their work with partial proceeds to benefit SEVA. Anna Beaudry, past PPOC-BC President, says “We are so excited the launch of PHOTOGraphie Festival is almost here! We are pleased the news is getting out about this inspirational community event. We even have word that one youth, who plans on becoming a professional photographer, is coming all the way from Kelowna with his family to attend the event!”

VIP Private Gallery Reception

Friday September 26 from 6:00 pm to 9:30 pm we will be celebrating the opening of PHOTOGraphie, BC’s only professional photography festival!

Join us for a glass of wine or sparkling water and some light nibblies for your palate. There will also be plenty of breathtaking photographic art to feast your eyes on and fabulous people to chat the evening away with. I bet you might even know one of the Photographers whose work is in the show!

Plus, you’ll have the opportunity to meet Faye and Trevor Yerbury, the Keynote speakers for Monday’s program! Hailing from Scotland, this is the Yerbury’s first visit to Canada and they are Masters of fine art nude and portrait photography.

Trevor and Faye are generously donating a portion of the sales of the work to Seva Canada. Seva does some great work around the globe preventing blindness and restoring sight!

Brought to you by Professional Photographers of Canada – BC Region, this private party has only a few tickets remaining and we want to make sure you and your guests can get in. If you are bringing a guest please reserve a ticket through Eventbrite for them and include their name on the order form.  Because our liquor license is for a private party, the only way we can allow people in is if they have a reservation.

Alternately, your schedule may have changed since you reserved your ticket and you may find that you are not able to attend.  We were really hoping to see you there, but if you are not coming would you kindly log back in to Eventbrite and cancel your ticket using the ‘refund’ button so others can attend in your place.
Here’s how to get to the Roundhouse: 

Walking: From Granville St, head east five blocks down Davie.

Skytrain: The Yaletown – Roundhouse Canada Line Station is 200 metres away,  just across the street.

Bus: Buses C21 & C23 stop within feet of the Roundhouse.

Driving: Underground pay parking is accessible off a little driveway beside the Roundhouse, off Drake (south of Pacific Blvd) and is only $3 from 6:00pm to 10:00pm.

Oh, and remember, please don’t drink and drive, arrange a designated driver or taxi or bus/skytrain. Hope to see you there!
